Vintager Straps by Micah 100% hand made in the Napa Valley USA Passion ~ Quality ~ Pride What are your prices? To find the price for every strap simply go back to the home page, click on the strap you're interested in and you will see the price, description and pictures of the strap. What's the turn-around time for straps? I have no straps "in stock", every strap is hand-made to order. Turn-around time is 3 to 4 weeks but I always strive to get straps out as soon as possible. Where do you ship to, how much does it cost and what shipping method do you use?
I ship anywhere in the world. There is no charge for USPS First Class shipping, which normally takes 3 to 5 days in the US and 7 to 10 days internationally. When shipping internationally it is not uncommon for packages to be held in customs in your country for anywhere from 2 days to several weeks. I have no control over this.
What size strap should I get? Straps are measured in millimeters and you need to know two dimensions: Width and length. -----> Width:
Width is expressed like this: 24/22 (24mm wide by 22mm wide). The first number is the width of the strap between the lugs of the watch. The second number is the width of the strap at the buckle.
-----> Length: Length is expressed like this: 130/80 (130mm long tongue side and 80mm long buckle side). The first number (130) is the length of the tongue side of the strap. The second number (80) is the length of the buckle side. If you have any doubt about which length to get always err on the side of longer. -----> What length should I get? Below you will find suggestions on what length strap to get based on your wrist size. To figure out your wrist size wrap a piece of string around your wrist, mark the string where it crosses itself, lay it flat on a table and measure the distance between the marks. 6.0" - 6.5" = 120/75
I think that longer straps look better. My straps are generally thicker than factory straps so they "wear" a bit shorter, so if your factory 115/75 strap is "just right" one of my straps in that same size will be a little too short. Please bear in mind that the preceding suggestions are just that: Suggestions.
"Please punch holes for my 6.5" wrist..." Rather than moving the holes around the proper way to fit a strap is to order the correct length buckle side, which will put the buckle in the hole you want. I always start the holes at 50mm from the lug edge of the strap unless you provide specific instructions otherwise. How thick are your straps? Most of my straps are 4mm thick. I find this thickness is perfect for all kinds of big watches. Some straps are a bit thinner, and some are a bit thicker but all are right around 4mm. Can you "box stitch" any of your straps? I can box stitch (with stitching across the strap at the lugs in addition to around the perimeter of the strap) any strap you order, simply make a note "Box stitch please" in the "Note to Micah" field when ordering. What about dress straps? My business is named Vintager Straps for a reason: I strive to make vintage-style straps that are rugged and historic in nature. Even my more "modern" straps are made in a vintage style; a bit thicker, with thick thread and oozing real hand-made style. I'm not saying you can't wear my straps in dressy situations, but if you're looking for a replacement for your OEM croc strap this might not be the right place. How do I place an order?
From the Home page, click on the picture of any strap you'd like to order. Click the "Buy Now" button. You will be walked through each ordering step. You are not committed to buying a strap until you have actually entered your payment information.
Can I pay with a credit card? In most cases, yes. I don't feel comfortable being responsible for people's credit card info so I do everything via paypal. If you don't have a paypal account you can pay with a credit card via paypal in most cases; when you get to the "check out" portion (after you've put your straps in the shopping cart and clicked "Proceed to Checkout") you should see a "Pay with Credit Card" link on the left side of the screen. Unfortunately, paypal does not offer this function for all regions of the world. If you don't see the "Pay with Credit Card" link, and we can figure out something else, I also accept checks, money orders and Western Union. Can you please put down "Gift, $5" on international orders so I don't have to pay duties? No. Can you send me a picture of (lighter, darker, different thread, different buckle) All the pictures I have are on the website. If it's not here that means I don't have a picture of it :-) Do you really make every strap by hand?
Yes I do. I am a sole-proprietor. I have no employess. It's just me, no help at all... well, my wife sometimes takes stuff to the post office for me but that's it. Your strap is 100% made by my own two hands, using all the skills and knowledge I have.
Do you have any straps you can send out immediately? All straps are made-to-order, I don't have any "pre-made" straps. I hope to offer ready-to-go straps in the future, but currently the only way to get one of my straps is to pays your money and waits your turn :-) What if my strap gets wet? Not to worry, leather is very resiliant and can easily handle getting wet. Repeated dousing/drying may cause your strap to dry out, however. If this is a concern I suggest putting leather lotion or boot oil on your strap soon after receiving it, this will help it maintain it's natural moisture. Be sure to spot test on the BACK of the strap to see how the lotion will effect the color of the strap. Can you make a 24/22, 26/24 etc. strap? With the exception of the ammo-style straps like Mauser, yes. Because all straps are hand-made I can literally make any width you want. Ammo-style straps are available in straight widths or 27/26 width only. What about buckles?
Buckles are available in the following sizes and finishes:
Can you make a strap for my XYZ watch? In most cases yes. and we'll discuss it. Can you make a strap that will fit my deployant buckle?
First, allow me to mount my soap-box for just a second: It's "deployANT" not "deployMENT". Just in case you didn't know :-)
Are you a watch collector yourself? If it weren't for my own passion for watch collecting in general and Panerai in specific I wouldn't be doing this at all, so the answer is "YES!" I regularly attend GTG's (Get ToGethers) all over the country and have met many watch collectors and generally great people thanks to my passion for fine watches. How did you get started making straps?
I got started by one unfortunate thing and one very fortunate thing. The unfortunate thing was that I, like many, was very busy wasting money on mediocre straps. I've bought over $2k in straps, and I can honestly say that only a handful of them are of any quality. Most of the straps I've bought are of virtually identical quality because they're all basically made in the same place: A factory in China. Some people charge $50 to $100 for these factory-made straps (a reasonable price) and others are putting fancy names on them and charging prices well north of $100. There were a few straps in particular that made me think "You know, I could make a strap better than this!"
Cute story.
When you order a strap from me there's only two people involved: You and me. No factory, no employees, no shipments, no re-sale, no answering services, none of that. My work-shop is my "factory" and there's only room for one in there: Me. It's literally you telling me what you want and me making it, by hand, with passion.
I want to make straps, can you help me?
I've spent a long time and many thousands of dollars getting this all together and figuring out the literally hundreds of little details that go into making a truly quality strap. I appreciate your desire to make straps and I fully encourage you to DO IT.
